Trees keep our air supply fresh by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen.
Mulch Madness, South Side
It's that time of year: Time to mulch trees to get them ready for the cooler weather!
October marks the third year for Tree Pittsburgh’s annual tree care campaign, Mulch Madness. Tree Pittsburgh dedicates October to educating the public while engaging communities in the importance of proper tree maintenance. This year, we have seven events planned throughout the city: East Liberty, Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, Oakland, Northside, South Side, and Carrick.
At Mulch Madness events, volunteers will work together to weed and mulch over 1000 trees in 7 neighborhoods! Tree Pittsburgh provides staff, tools, safety vests, gloves, and refreshments for each event.
